Hillary Duff, Evan Ross, Ellen Burstyn and Michael Murphy star in GRETA, which finished shooting in November in Ocean Grove and Asbury Park, New Jersey. Scripted by Michael Gilvary, Greta is a wry yet edgy story about a troubled teenager (Duff) who is sent to live with her strong willed grandparents (Burstyn and Murphy) for the summer. During her stay, Greta finds a job as a waitress, then discovers her first true romance with a short-order cook (Ross) from neighboring Asbury Park.
Film was a feature debut for director Nancy Bardawil, who had a career directing commercials and music videos. Greta is the fourth film produced by Whitewater Films. Rick Rosenthal, Gary Dean Simpson, Doug Sutherland and Michael Lohmann are producing. Trent Broin and Jacob Mosler are co-producing.
Rick Rosenthal says of the film, "We are incredibly excited about Greta. We got an amazing cast for such a small film and we think Hillary's role will surprise and delight her fans".
